DOE/INFN Summer Exchange Program for 2009

INFN ROMA


The US Department of Energy (DoE) and the National Institute for Nuclear Physics - Italy (INFN) announce the 2009 edition of the Summer Exchange Program, dedicated to the exchange of US and Italian students in science and engineering.

Students are offered the possibility to work on projects which will extend their experience in the areas of science and technology relevant for their academic training.

Research activities in Roma are pursued in all major INFN areas of interest: Particle Physics, Astroparticle Physics, Nuclear Physics, Theoretical Physics and Detector Physics.
Several groups are participating in experimental programs in collaboration with US institutions.
In particular the following groups have expressed their interest in the program and they invite US students to join their research activities.

Candidates must have completed at least three years in an undergraduate curriculum in physics, engineering or computing in a US University. They can join a team in Rome for 10 weeks between June 1st and November 30th, 2009.

Opportunities include participation in physics analysis activities of running experiments as well as involvement in detector developments.

CMS experiment

CDF experiment


Search for Higgs boson at Tevatron.

CP violation studies in the Bs system.

CUORE experiment

KLOE experiment

MEG experiment
