Search for the neutrinoless muon decay into electron-gamma with the MEG experiment. Dr. Giancarlo Piredda & Dr. Gianluca Cavoto e mail: gianluca.cavoto@roma1.infn.it Since several decades there is the attempt to search for the rare neutrinoless muon decay into electron-gamma. While this process is forbidden in the Standard Model, there are several supersymmetry-based models that predict rate in the order of 10**-13. The MEG experiment at PSI (Switzerland), carefully designed to reach such a sensitivity, has taken data during 2008 and is going to restart data-taking during summer 2009. Period: September-November. No August. |
