TRAVEL DETAILS

   LOCATION
The School will be held in Varenna, a picturesque medieval town, rich in artistic monuments on the east coast of Lake Como, and a popular tourist destination, much appreciated also for its magnificent natural beauty.

   VENUE
    Lectures will be held in Villa Monastero, an ancient monastery and patrician abode, surrounded by enchanted gardens along the shore of the peaceful Lake Como; all this makes the Villa an ideal environment for high level cultural and scientific meetings.

Lectures are held in the hall called "The Oratory", which is provided with adequate facilities. This halls contains 80 seats for the audience, but 20 additional seats can be added.

   TRAVEL DETAILS
     To reach Varenna, follow the instructions given below.

BY CAR

From Milano: Follow the direction to Lecco (s.s.36) and once there follow the indication to Sondrio (s.s.36). First exit in Abbadia Lariana and then drive for about 15 Km. After Fiumelatte, before the tunnel turn left to Varenna.

From Lugano (Switzerland): Exit at Lugano sud. Follow Gandria - St. Moritz. At Gandria cross into Italy, follow signs to Menaggio, and once there take the ferry across to Varenna (approx. twice every hour).

BY PLANE

First of all, it is highly reccomended that you fly to Milano.

From Milano Malpensa: Outside the arrival terminal, take blue Shuttle bus to Milano Centrale railroad station (approx. 1 hour ride, every 20 minutes from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.). Then see below.

From Milano Linate: Outside the arrival terminal, take blue Shuttle bus to Milano Centrale railroad station (approx. 30 minutes ride, every 30 minutes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Then see below.

BY TRAIN

First of all, it is highly reccomended that you reach Milano.

From Milano Centrale railroad station: Take any of the trains with final destination Sondrio or Tirano (better not to take for Como nor for Torino!).
