CMS lighted up by first particles
On september, 10th, 2008, a proton beam circulated along the whole LHC ring. The CMS detector promptly revealed particles passing throughout it, produced by the interactions of the beam with collimators or belonging to its halo. Images of the reconstructed events are visible here as well as on international web sites and newspapers.

Il 10 settembre 2008, per la prima volta, un fascio di protoni ha attraversato l'intero anello di LHC. L'esperimento CMS ha prontamente rivelato le particelle che lo hanno attraversato, prodotte dalle collisioni del fascio con i collimatori o dall'alone dello stesso.
