Overview
Parity
violation is studied in a broad range of physics research. While the
central theme of the workshop announced here (PAVI11) is its study in
electron scattering experiments, many other physics topics will be
reported in talks on the progress and status in atomic parity
violation, beta decay, neutrino physics, electric dipole moments, weak
decays and fundamental symmetries. Since these time-consuming and very
difficult measurements are driven by technology, talks covering
polarized sources, polarimetry, high powered cryo-targets will also be
presented.
PAVI11, the 5th workshop in the series “From Parity violation to
hadronic structure and more… “, will take place at the “Sapienza”
University in Rome, the beautiful capital of Italy, from September 5
through September 9, 2011. This series of workshops started in Mainz
(Germany) in 2002, followed by one in Grenoble (France) in 2004, a
third on the Greek island of Milos in 2006 and the previous one in Bar
Harbour, Maine, in 2008.
The workshop will cover the following topics:
Atomic Parity Violation
Charge Symmetry Breaking Quark Distributions
Electric Dipole Moment
Electron-Ion Collider
Electroweak Physics at Colliders
Extensions of the Standard Model
Future Facilities and Electroweak Physics
Hadronic Parity Violation
Neutrino Physics
Parity Violating Electron Scattering
Parity Violation and QCD in Nuclei
Polarimetry
Polarized Electron Sources
Tests of the Standard Model
Two-Boson Radiative Corrections
All sessions will be plenary with half a day reserved for contributed
talks and a poster session. On Thursday afternoon, September 8, an
excursion to the large Roman archaeological complex of Villa Adriana at
Tivoli will be followed by a social dinner.
Call for Abstracts
Abstracts for contributed talks can be submitted through the PAVI11 web page http://www.roma1.infn.it/pavi11/
with a deadline of June 24. Abstracts accepted for oral presentation
will be identified by July 6. All other contributions can be presented
as posters.
Registration
The
workshop fee is expected to be appr. 350 EU which will cover all
lunches, coffee breaks, social activities and the workshop proceedings
and will be finalized before June 1. Registration can be completed
through the conference web site.
Accommodations
Hotel
rooms are offered at special rates to PAVI11 participants, quoted on
the workshop web page. A list of other hotels nearby the University is
also shown.
