ANTONIO BIANCONI - Curriculum Vitae

    Antonio Bianconi graduated in Physics in Rome in 1969. Has been working in the field of Synchrotron Radiation since 1971 at Frascati, Stanford, Orsay, Tsukuba and ESRF at Grenoble. His interest has been focused on the physics and chemistry of complex materials such as valence fluctuating systems and correlated metals and in these last years on high Tc superconductors. He is full professor in Physics since 1987 at University of l'Aquila and since 1993 at University of Rome "La Sapienza".

    Biophysics of metalloproteins, valence fluctuation in electronically correlated solids
    1987-1992 Full professor in Physics at University of L'Aquila
    Research in Synchrotron radiation at LURE, Orsay France and Tsukuba, Japan. He has found that the doped holes are on oxygen orbitals in high Tc superconductors and study the structural dynamics of myoglobin.

    1993-today Full professor in Physics at University of Roma La Sapienza
    He has introduced in 1990-1992 the "stripe scenario" in high Tc superconductors, by joint EXAFS and diffraction using X-ray synchrotron radiation.. He is now using advanced synchrotron radiation techniques to identify the striped phase in cuprate superconductors and manganites.

    He is author of 190 papers in international Journals, he has been in the scientific committees of of many International conferences and in the scientific committee of ESRF.
    He is active in synchrotron radiation research, and in high Tc superconductors, amorphous materials, surface physics, catalysts, transition metal oxides, valence fluctuation materials and metalloproteins.
