TARGET USER:
user of the Italian "cluster" at DESY having an AFS account.

At DESY, zeus-italy users are using two different password databases: a database from the ZEUS-Offline group and the DESY AFS database.
When you need/want to change your password, you have to do it on both places.

 

How to do it, in two simple steps:
  1. login on   bastion.desy.de   (change your Kerberos5 and AFS password):

    bastion> /usr/sue/bin/passwd
    Changing passwords for AFS-Hamburg, Windows and AFS-Zeuthen (if account is registered): anzel
    Old password:
    <type here your old password>
    New password:
    <type here your new password>
    Retype new password:
    <type here your new password again>
    Starting password change, please be patient!
    ....
    .............Done successfull.

  2. login on   zaxit1.desy.de   (change your ZOW password):

    zaxit1> /usr/bin/yppasswd
    Changing NIS password for anzel
    Old NIS password: <type here your old password>
    New password: <type here your new password>
    Retype new password: <type here your new password again>
    NIS passwd changed on zow2000.desy.de
