The year 2013 is the centenary of the birth of Bruno Pontecorvo, one of the great physicists of the 20th century and a pioneer of high-energy physics. To honour his memory as a person and a scientist, INFN and the Physics Department of University of Rome "La Sapienza", are organizing an International Meeting on 11 and 12 September 2013. Bruno Pontecorvo’s life was characterized by his important, ground-breaking scientific ideas as well as by his ideological choices, sometimes dramatic, which marked his destiny as man and scientist. The meeting will be fitting tribute to the memory of the youngest “ragazzo di Via Panisperna”, an opportunity to encounter and celebrate his scientific vision and his civil commitment.
