The year 2024 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the discovery of the J/psi particle, a decisive passage for the definition of our modern description of the physics of fundamental interactions which goes under the name of the Standard Model.
We envisage an exciting opportunity to outline, together to some of the makers of the Standard Model, this story of unparalleled scientific success.
The Symposium is open to students and young researchers. It will be held in the Department of Physics of Sapienza University of Rome which hosted over the years leading figures of theoretical particle physics such as Nicola Cabibbo, Giovanni Jona-Lasinio, Luciano Maiani, Giorgio Parisi and Bruno Touschek along with Edoardo Amaldi, Marcello Conversi and Giorgio Salvini, in experimental physics.
