FIRB PRIN
The PRIN programme (Research Projects of Significant National Interest) is intended to finance public research projects, in order to encourage the strengthening of the national scientific base, also in view of a more effective participation in European initiatives related to the Framework Programmes of the European Union.
The Fund for Investments in Basic Research (FIRB) is one of the main instruments of the Ministry of Research (MIUR) for financing basic research. The FIRB finances activities aimed at expanding scientific and technical knowledge that is not linked to immediate and specific commercial or industrial objectives, with the objective of enhancing Italy’s international competitiveness.
The management and reporting of these projects is carried out by the External Funds Service.
