ENP

ENP (Exploring New Physics) is a project ("iniziativa specifica") in the field of theoretical physics of the INFN (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare). The main purpose of the project is the analysis of the phenomenology of elementary particles to search for hints to new physics beyond the Standard Model.

The processes studied concern both the possible direct production of new particles in current and future accelerators, and virtual processes in low-energy phenomena. The most promising sectors are obviously those specific to the Standard Model, in particular the weak processes that violate the flavor of quarks and leptons and the electroweak sector responsible for symmetry breaking.

In order to perform accurate comparison with experimental results, both in the virtual processes and in the real production, the calculation of the radiative corrections is an essential ingredients that is studied in many processes.

Finally, the possibility of discovering new physics in cosmoloy is also analyzed, in particular in the composition of dark matter and its possible interactions with ordinary matter.
